Hello there, friends of Unity Joy of Life!
Am I the only introvert that actually enjoyed COVID? Is that bad to say? When everything shut down, my husband and I experienced a great silence, a great calm. And what I have come to realize is that silence is something you carry with you all the time. And it is there that you experience your own connection with God.
So how do you get there? Well, this is my daily practice. What I do is I tune in, I tap into a past spiritual experience, or a past great joy, or a past great love. I tune into maybe the aspects of God that I've experienced already. And then I bring that feeling to just radiate throughout my entire well-being. And then I just sit there in the silence of being. Scientifically, what silence has to offer is that it reduces cortisol levels, it boosts your mental clarity, it lowers blood pressure, and it enhances well-being.
In The Course in Miracles, I love this, it says, "There is a silence into which the world cannot intrude. There is an ancient peace that I carry in my heart and have not lost. There is a sense of holiness in me, the thought of fear has never touched. I go there now."
So give silence a try.
Until next time, I'm keeping the faith for you.
