Hello there, friends of Unity Joy of Life! Sometimes I think of life as kind of like the stock market, if you will. It goes up, and it goes down. It certainly is never in a straight line, and I would venture to say that life is certainly not experienced in this straight line.

Change happens; sometimes unexpectedly. The Truth is, that only you are in control of how you adapt, how you process, how you go with the flow. If something comes your way and you cannot seem to go with the flow, if you are rigid, if you tend to cling and hang on, then you will always be resisting life.

I often think of the most profound scene from Mel Brooks’ “History of the World” where Moses was given 15 Commandments and he accidentally drops and destroys 5 of them, so he presents only the remaining 10 Commandments to the people.

Maybe humanity couldn’t handle 15 Commandments! So, the Universe decided to give us 10. Either way, my friends, nothing can be pinned down. Everything changes, and if you resist change, you have this frustration and this suffering.

So I suggest: be like a stream, if you will. Just be like a stream to the degree that you go with the stream. You are flowing with life, not against it. To the degree that you resist the stream, then you notice that the current is rushing past you and you’re fighting against it.

So, swim with it. Swim with life.

We are living in a fluid Universe and you can just ask yourself when something comes up that is about change. Ask yourself: “This is what’s so. So, now what?

And here’s the trick to life. This is what I’ve learned at least. I hope it’s true. But as I’ve gone through my time in life, I just have to trust where the Universe takes me. Trust where the Universe takes you. And when you trust and when you just let go, you become this cooperative component where you can see that the Universe meticulously places you in the right place with the right people, the situations, the events that come into your path for your highest good.

Everything is being divinely orchestrated for your highest good - your highest joy. Then life becomes beautiful! Even with the ups and downs of life.
